Playlist: Crossfading Between Bright Media Becomes Temporarily Dark

This applies to all MXWendler versions

Task:

You created a playlist with bright media ( eg. sky footage ) and during cue fades, the resulting image goes temporarily dark

Solution:

Go to the preload tab

Open the playlist preloads

Change the layer mode from Picture in Picture to Add

Background:

Picture in Picture is defined by: place media B inside media A with opacity X. During the crossfade two layers, the botton one and the top one are faded to eg. 50% ( 0.5 ), so placing an image with 50% fade inside an image with 50% fade results in a 75% faded result.
